Entanglement - A Parallel Project

Entanglement is a parallel project during this residency. I decided, after resisting for many days, to pick up the same street litter I had noticed every day for the last 12 days on my hourly walks from and to the studio some I have seen daily others waste only for a couple of days littering. 

Entanglement was born out of necessity as I walk the streets I am the ONLY person picking up objects abandonned on my routes footpaths. 

Our streets are runways for rubbish to slide directly into the sea...

                                 Day 2 

Each day I will record the found picked (written & photographed at the base of the sculpture).

The next morning I will add these to the hanging sculptural form which has taken centre stage in the gallery.

And then will record what was gleaned that morning and so forth...

What bacteria do these carry even before they hit the ocean. Could they carry bacteria that survive in the water? Could they hold a plastic eating bacteria from land to sea? 

A future research to be made?
